Over €44 million requested for CEF Telecom projects

The Innovation and Networks Executive Agency (INEA) has received 56 project proposals by the 28 November deadline for the CEF Telecom 2017-3 call, requesting over €44 million in total EU funding. The total available budget for the call is €24 million. Evaluation of the project proposals with the help of external experts will start in December.

The CEF Telecom 2017-3 closed yesterday 28 November with INEA receiving 56 project proposals (breakdown below).

CEF eTranslation officially launched in Brussels

The official launch of eTranslation, the new Commission machine translation service, took place in the Berlaymont on 15 November, with the participation of DGT Director-General Rytis Martikonis and DG CNECT Director-General Roberto Viola and DG DIGIT Director Philippe Van Damme.

European Language Resource Coordination (ELRC) Final Report 2015-2017

The European Commission initiated ELRC to overcome one of the main challenges in creating a true Digital Single Market in Europe – the language barrier that public services, ministries and citizens face every day. The ELRC has set up a permanent European Language Resource Coordination mechanism and has been collecting language resources from and for public service administrations in all 28 EU Member States, Norway and Iceland. The Final Report presents the results of the work carried out between April 2015 and April 2017.

Supported by the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF), the Innovation and Networks Executive Agency (INEA) has launched a call for proposals for projects to support multilingual digital services in Europe. The budget for the call is €6 million. Deadline for submissions is 28 November 2017.
