CEF Building Blocks joining forces – eTranslation team will make use of eDelivery for additional data security
The European Commission’s Directorate-General for Translation (DGT) - the team behind eTranslation - has decided to further enhance the security of their machine translation tool by making use of the eDelivery building block.
eDelivery enables public administrations to exchange electronic data and documents with other public administrations, businesses and citizens in a secure and reliable way - within Europe or beyond.
The eTranslation system has recently undergone significant developments. After extending the MT system’s language coverage with the introduction of Chinese and Russian translation engines and the opening of the service to European SMEs, DGT will now also boost the security of eTranslation. By using eDelivery, eTranslation will benefit from a number of improvements, including e.g. additional security and confidentiality for the translated data. In addition, it can benefit from automatically encrypted messages.
